The MK5 Supra Eventuri intake was engineered to give the turbo a far less restrictive airflow path while keeping inlet temperatures low. Heat and volume are the critical factors in designing an intake for turbocharged engines. In the Supra, the intake sits beside the exhaust manifold, which rapidly heat-soaks the engine bay. High temperatures reduce performance because the turbo must build boost using hotter, less dense air. A fully sealed intake is the only way to keep IATs down, but sealing the system typically limits airflow since the stock intake has only one feed.

During development, Eventuri identified an additional opening into the wheel arch and utilized it as a secondary air feed. The sealed airbox also incorporates a gold-reflected heat shield to reduce radiative heat from the exhaust manifold. To maximize internal volume, the airbox is built as large as packaging allows, including a recess for potential strut braces. The stock convoluted tube was replaced with a smooth, larger-diameter carbon inlet tube starting at 111mm (4.4") and tapering smoothly to the turbo inlet. A custom high-flow dry filter—ISO-tested for filtration—is included and offers more surface area than the OEM filter.
